The Mission
In Spirit and Truth exists to make Bible study accessible, organized, and meaningful — whether you’re opening Scripture for the first time or have studied it for decades.
The name comes from John 4:24:
“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
I believe understanding God’s Word is essential to worshiping Him faithfully.
What You’ll Find Here
This site provides chapter-by-chapter study guides across the Bible, designed to meet you where you are.
Two Reading Levels
Each study is available in Standard and Simpler, so you can choose the depth that best fits your season of life. Switch between them anytime with a single tap.
Multiple Study Formats
For each chapter, you’ll find several study lenses — each highlighting a different dimension of the text:
Bible Translations
Every page defaults to the English Standard Version (ESV) — one of the most widely used modern translations, known for its balance of literal accuracy and readability. You can switch between three translations with a single tap using the toggle at the top of each study page:
You can select up to three translations to appear on the toggle, choosing from five available: ESV, NIV, KJV, NASB, and the World English Bible (WEB). Scripture passages update in real time — no page reload required. Each translation is color-coded so you always know which version you’re reading.
On the My Preferences page, you can change which translation is your default and choose which translations appear in your toggle. Your preferences are saved to your account and apply across all pages.
You can also compare translations side by side using the Verse Compare tool to see how different versions render key phrases and passages.
Interactive Study Tools
Beyond the study content itself, the site includes several tools designed to make your time in Scripture more productive and personal.
Most features work without an account. Sign in with Google or email to sync highlights, notes, and reading position across all your devices.
Free to Use
All study content, Bible translations, highlighting, notes, search, and every other feature on this site is completely free — no ads, no subscriptions, and no paywalls.
The one exception is Ask AI. Because AI costs real money to run, the site uses a simple credit system. Every new account receives 77 free credits to get started, and Quick-tier questions are always free. If you want to ask more Reasoned or Verified questions beyond your free credits, credit packs are available for purchase on the My Preferences page, or you can enter any custom amount starting at $1.
This is a volunteer-run ministry. No one is compensated for their work on this site. Credit purchases go toward covering the costs of running these AI study tools, including payment processing fees. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and credits do not expire.
How the Content Is Created
Pages are produced with the help of advanced AI tools and then cross-checked using multiple AI models to catch mistakes and improve theological clarity. Even so, AI can still be wrong — so I treat this as a living project.
I also review the content on an ongoing basis. If you spot an error or have a well-supported correction from Scripture, you can submit it through the Contact page. If your point is valid, the content will be updated.
Content is written to be useful across historic Christian traditions.

A Personal Note
This site is a labor of love — built to help you dig deeper into God’s Word and share that journey with others. It’s not meant to replace your church, your pastor, or your own prayer life. Think of it as a companion to support your study.
Scripture is the inspired Word of God and the standard by which this content should be tested. I encourage you to verify everything here against the Bible (included on all pages), discuss it with other believers, and seek wise counsel from your church.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
